Fair closet #1

I’ve been invested in fair fashion for about a year now, and it is going great, but sometimes I will still walk by a ZARA or something and see something in their shop window which I like, and will want to buy it, but then I remember myself about the working conditions of the garment makers, the horrible impact on the environment and it goes away pretty quickly.

I’m lucky to have found an easy way of buying secondhand clothes (online), and a couple weeks ago, I checked out the clothing section at the thrift-store, where -spoiler alert- I found two pieces of clothing.

Now I don’t always buy secondhand. Underwear and socks I will still buy new, but I like to make sure they’ve been made fair and environmentally friendly. I would like to show you some of the clothes I’ve bought.

Pants (United Wardrobe) and sweater (thrifted). I believe the pants were around 20 euros or so, and the sweater was only 3,50. It’s very comfy and the color is great for the fall and winter.

This vintage dress is from Ginger Aardbei and I absolutely love it, though I’m going to make the skirt a little shorter, so it doesn’t look too 1800’s.

I already had the pants, but the shirt and the blazer are recently bought on United Wardrobe. I paid around 11 euros for it total.

This cardigan is also thrifted and cost 3.50

This activist tee is from Katherine Hamnett and is new, it’s a great conversation starter and also very comfortable. It is made of organic cotton. It was one of my more expensive buys, even though bought in sale. I love wearing it because I know that if you have a text on your shirt, people will read it. So even if they might not ask about it, it might get them thinking about what it actually means.

I hope you guys enjoyed me sharing my wardrobe with you! Do you buy secondhand?

Love,

Adriana
